The search is for those who belongs in His Kingdom. “He would leave the 99 sheep to search for the one that is lost…”. Jesus came searching for the lost tribe of Israel and then eventually all those that are willing to accept salvation of the Cross. After when He rose from the dead he said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15. Why? That they too may be saved into an everlasting Kingdom where all the goodness of the Father is truly manifested and His glory is ever present.
To win a life over into the glorious Kingdom must be the most rewarding act of human responsibility given to us as a duty. To touch the heartbeat of God. What a privilege that man have been put to work to help build the Kingdom with LOVE.
The Spirit said “Go”, with such a command all we need to do is “Go”, He has already gone before us!
Just like the Father is specific Jesus was specific, but we the labourers are told to “Go” into all the world unto every soul. Freely you receive freely you give!
We are called and are a chosen generation to go out and gather in the much beloved fruits into the barn, that the Father may see His rewards.
In Luke 10:1-42, we see that Jesus prepared 72 disciples to go ahead of Him to warn the people that He was on His way and if they don’t receive them or believe them they were to wipe the dust of their feet and if they do receive them, then peace will remain upon that house. When Jesus came to the City or the Temple to preach these are the people who either receive him or rejected him. He said to them:-
The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few; therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.
But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house. And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the labourer is worthy of his wages.
Do not go from house to house. Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you. ’But I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.
It is good when preaching to large crowds which gathered together to partake of the word, but when all is done and many lost souls responds how wonderful! May the Lord continue to draw them, however it is imperative that these individuals be followed up, we know the Holy Spirit will keep them as He is the one that draws them, but we know there is a roaring lion seeking who it may devour. The simple truth is that many a lost sinner will never come to hear a sermon unless someone brings them, nor will they not respond to the invitation unless another encourages them to go forward and accept Christ. As they learn how to trust Christ and have the assurance of salvation, as you continue in earnest prayers for them Holy Spirit will draw the Father’s own to Himself.
Soul Winning is simply evangelising for the Kingdom of Heaven. If anything pleases the Father, it is witnessing to those who do not yet know Him or know how to come to Him. “Soul Winning is like boasting that you have the best Father and you want everyone to know this and to meet Him” and they can only experience this, by what you confess and share about him, it is also like being invited to your home for dinner or to your birthday party”. The gladness of Joy and acceptance!
Every effort is to be made to win souls, each souls is a heartbeat of life. Matt 18:12 - 14 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. No, not one! He has given His life to ransomed all that would come, for all those destined. “ and very well Jesus could say . . “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
Many people believe that water baptism is not essential to a person's salvation. Without exception water baptism and the fiery baptism of the Holy Spirit is the evidence of you renouncing that which was the old life (the kingdom of darkness) and that which is to become the new life, reigning with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God. When you examine the cases of conversion to Christ as they are recorded in the Scriptures, the book of Acts, you will discover that baptism is that act, that stood between the sinner and salvation in every case.
And unto Adam God said, . . . Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. The reason man was fallen, was because he failed his test. That test was to keep the direct command that the Creator gave him.
God reprimanded the serpent with a curse in Gen 3:15 “And I will put enmity (open hostility) Between you and the woman, and between your seed (offspring) and her Seed; He shall [fatally] bruise your head, and you shall [only] bruise His heel.”
The ultimate seed of the woman would be Jesus Himself. Therefore, we have in Gen 3:15 the first promise of a Redeemer. It is the beginning of a long line of prophecies concerning the coming Messiah. The Promised One would be from the woman's seed as indicated of the eventual virgin birth of Christ and who would bruise the head of the serpent. But Himself would be offered up as the sacrifice for man’s ultimate sin.
Through his death and resurrection, Jesus atoned for the sins of humanity, allowing them to be reconciled with God. The Word of God declares that Christ is the only way to salvation (salvation by the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the Cross, is to redeemed the soul of man; in other words, exchange from the curse of death, and bondage of sin and the grave), and that salvation will be for those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus from the death after dying to take back the ‘key of authority’ back from Satan who stole it via the deceit of the serpent in the Garden of Eden.
Salvation is so important for souls, it is the fundamental reason why God sent His only begotten Son, in ransom of life for mankind. The Word of God declares by Jesus in John 8:24 …”Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” Those who die with unforgiven sins will not be able to get to heaven; the abode of God and His Righteous ones. Salvation means being saved from sin. Confessing that you are a sinner and accepting Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. It is essential to have a relationship with God while on earth, and to have eternal life with God in heaven after death, and without salvation this is impossible.
As it is stated . .in Hebrew 9:27-28 . . . just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgement, so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.
We await our Heavenly Saviour that we may (put on immortality) be clothed with eternal life and reign with him in Glory. This is the ultimate purpose of Salvation! Then we at last can say like that of Paul “oh death where is that victory or grave where is thy sting?”
[Eph 2:6] and God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus and after being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him.. . .[Matt 3:16]
If then you been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are earthly. [Col 3:1-2].
Our greatest hope is to be raised up with Him that wherever He is you are also, therefore believers are in a single binding covenant with Christ, which is indissoluble throughout eternity, and so are eternally in union in one body and one mind identifying themselves always with Him. Him being; the First fruit from the dead, bringing us to righteousness by His Righteousness. For as many has believed that when He died, we died and when He was buried, we also were buried and when he was raised up on the Third day, we raised up in newness of life through Him!
For now, He is seated at the right hand of His Father, we to are seated with Him at the right hand of our Father in heaven, [Eph 1:21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. These are great truths and faith believing words of the believer's identity with Christ, thoroughly expounded in Chapter 6 of the book of Romans.
“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? We therefore have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might be raised and walk in newness of life by the death of the cross.
For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin, (the deeds of the flesh that war against the mind); for he who has died is freed from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. Forever has life conquered death and reigns forever.
For the death that He died, He died to sin, once and for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
To the ordinary human mind, it is incomprehensible to think that we are raised from the dead, because we dare to have faith and believe the WORD of God, which was commanded to His Son to speak . . .and Jesus replies. . “Did I not tell you that if you believe…” you shall see the glory of God”? [John 11:40]. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live
. . .“The path of life leads upward for the wise, that he may keep away from Sheol below. For it is better that it be said to you, “Come up here,” than for you to be placed lower in the presence of the prince, whom your eyes have seen. . . ” [ John 11:26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Martha was convinced that Jesus was the Christ [John 11:27] She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world…..but she only believed because they have been waiting for the Christ, the Saviour and the Lamb of God to come and save the world. She was not that convinced about what the resurrection meant. Until He gave Thanks to God, and called Lazarus out of the grave and he came forth still bound still by the gravecloths and many that was standing by believed on Jesus the Christ.
In John 10:27–28 Jesus states that: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish."
“God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:11-12). The gift of eternal life comes to those who believe in Jesus Christ, who is Himself “the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). The fact that this life is “eternal” indicates that it is perpetual life—it goes on and on and on, with no end.
“For whoso ever findeth me, findeth life and shall obtain favour of the Lord. (Prov 8:35).
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, . . .”if anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink...”Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’ ”…(Matthew 5:6) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (John 6:35) Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst. Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
(John 4:10) Jesus answered, "If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." (John 4:14) whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life." (1 Cor 12:13) For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we are all given one Spirit to drink.
Matthew 5:3-12 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
The light of God is in every man. It is not by the sword that God will free His people but by the Staff of God the Word of Truth Jesus Christ and by the Blood of the Holy Testimony forever. When the Bible speaks of eternal life, it refers to a gift of God that comes only “through Jesus Christ our Lord”.(Rom 6:23). This gift is in contrast to the “death” that is the natural result of sin. Matthew 5:20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. You will look for Me, but you will not find Me,’ and, ‘Where I am, you cannot come, except you choose life. Therefore, be you perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
For this reason, eternal life can be thought of as something that Christians experience now. Believers don’t have to “wait” for eternal life, because it’s not something that starts when they die. Rather, eternal life begins the moment a person exercises faith in Christ. It is our current possession. It is yours if you thirst for it .
John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (See how the believer “has” present tense). The focus of eternal life is not on our future, but on our current standing in Christ.
John 17:1, as Jesus prays, When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. For You granted Him authority over all people so that He may give eternal lift to all those You have given Him. Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.…
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” Here, Jesus equates “eternal life” with a knowledge of God and of the Son. There is no knowledge of God without the Son, for it is through the Son that the Father reveals Himself to the elect.
In the New Jerusalem the apostle John sees a river flowing from “the throne of God and of the Lamb,” and “on each side of the river stood the tree of life. . . And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations” (Rev 22: 1-2). The rebellion in Eden caused God to banished Adam from the tree of life (Genesis 3:24).but Hope was not lost; God in His infinity Mercy and Grace restores our access to the Eternal Tree of Life. This access is provided through Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who, takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
Right now, every sinner is invited to know Christ and to receive eternal life: “Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who will drink freely the gift of the water of life”. (Rev 22:17)
How do you know that you have eternal life? First of all, confess your sin before our holy God. Then accept God’s provision of a Saviour on your behalf. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins, and He rose again the third day. Believe this good news; trust the Lord Jesus as your Saviour, and you will be saved (Acts 16:30-31) Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” . . . They reply “believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household. Then Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house.…, (Romans 10:9 -10). That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
